Young Boy Gets Iron Man Prosthetic Arm

A brave young boy is living like a superhero, thanks to his new bionic arm. Sam Halpern lost his arm to a bacterial infection, but now the eight-year-old has a new prosthetic limb made to look like “Iron Man,” thanks to doctors at Shriners Hospital for Children in Massachusetts.

Sam’s new arm, which they call “The Hero Arm,” is changing his life for the better. Not only does it look cool, it’s allowing him to do things we take for granted, like pick things up. His mom, Michelle, says Sam’s arm is totally improving his quality of life and helping to rebuild his confidence.

“He loves school and life and sports, and wants to do all those things to the best of his ability,” she explains. And now, with The Hero Arm, he can.
