Flooding Is Overwhelming the Midwest And More Is To Come

By the numbers, what’s happening in the Midwest weather-wise is stunning.

There have been 80 tornadoes since Sunday, over nine inches of rain have fallen, hundreds of water rescues have been performed, and river cresting will be anywhere between nine and 12 feet above flood stage. But, there’s more rain on the way this weekend.

Residents of Oklahoma, Missouri, Kansas, Texas, Iowa, and Nebraska are watching homes not only flood, but slip away into the Arkansas, Missouri, Cimarron, and Mississippi rivers.

Meanwhile, part of the storm has been moving eastward and a tornado was even confirmed in Columbia, Maryland yesterday. There will be plenty of rain, with hail, tornadoes possible, and strong winds which will dampen the holiday weekend.
