Woman Opens Home To Hurricane Dorian Dog Victims

Chella Phillips is a bright light among the devastation in the Bahamas at the hands of Hurricane Dorian.

By now you’ve heard of the destruction the storm has caused; among the victims are many dogs. That’s why Phillips has taken in 97 homeless dogs. Many of the pups are homeless and she says she’s having an interesting time with the bunch. At one point, 79 of the doggos were in the bedroom with her!

As to why she took on the responsibility, Phillips notes “It was either leave the dogs on the street to fend for themselves...or do something about it. I just want these dogs to be safe. I could care less about the dog poop and pee in my house.”

In case you’re wondering about this hero, Phillips has psent about 15 years saving nearly one thousand homeless dogs in the Bahamas. She’s found homes for over 200. After the storm, she’ll be building a bigger space for the pups.
