Locksmith Saves Woman Who Wrote '911' on Her Hand

A Utah woman who was being held captive managed to escape by writing “911” on her hand and showing it to a locksmith, according to police. Wasatch County Sheriff’s deputies were called to her Midway, Utah, home by the locksmith, who was hired to change her front door lock.

A report from the sheriff’s office says the locksmith, identified only as Greg, told them that when he finished the work and handed the woman the invoice, she showed him her hand. He said there was a man in the house who was “acting suspiciously,” staying close to the woman and not letting her use her phone without his permission. Greg says she showed her hand to him twice to make sure he saw it and then he made eye contact with her to let her know he did.

It turns out, the guy in her home was her ex and she says he was upset she was dating someone else now. He came into her home without her permission, they fought and he wouldn’t let her leave. He’s been charged with aggravated kidnapping in the course of committing unlawful detention, criminal trespass and assault. The hero locksmith says, “The lady was pretty smart to be able to do what she did.”
