Kesha’s Moving Performance Of 'Here Comes The Change' Will Give You Chills

Kesha took over The Ellen DeGeneres Show with a performance of her new anthem "Here Comes the Change" this week.

The singer-songwriter hit the stage on the talk show Wednesday (December 12) to deliver a live interpretation of her empowering tribute track in honor of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Wearing a striped sequined dress beneath a green jacket, Kesha belts her heart out with trembling vocals as her band performs around her. At some points during the showcase, the "Tik Tok" instrumentalist even breaks out her harmonica for a few added rhythms.

The musician's latest record appears on the soundtrack for the upcoming motion picture, On the Basis of Sex, a drama film consecrated to Ginsburg's determination to overthrow a century of sex discrimination with an unprecedented case before the Supreme Court.

Much like the film, "Here Comes the Change" draws its power from the artist's demand for equal rights.

Kesha penned the record for the movie at the behest of the film's director, Mimi Leder, who said, “I wanted her to write this song because her passionate voice and immense talent magnify the social justice imperatives Ruth Bader Ginsburg continues to fight for every day. It was important to both of us that this song be not only an anthem to all that Ruth Bader Ginsburg achieved, but also a rallying cry for how much more change is yet to come."

The film, starring Felicity Jones and Armie Hammer, releases on Christmas Day.
