Sleep Company Suggets Apple get rid of Snooze Button

No...please, no!!!

It’s no secret that a lot of people just can’t seem to get out of bed when their alarm goes off and thanks to the snooze button, we really don’t have to. Well, now one group is trying to get rid of the snooze button, claiming it is bad for people’s health.

Eve Sleep, a sleep wellness company, sent a letter to Apple’s London headquarters urging the tech giant to remove the snooze function from their clock app as part of the next iOS update, claiming it actually ruins the benefits of a good night’s sleep.

“We recognize the startling effect the snooze button is having on millions of Brits every morning and …we want Apple to join us in urging the nation to refuse to snooze,”James Sturrock, Eve Sleep’s chief exec, writes, with mental health and neuroscience expertMatt Janes, noting the snooze button, “can have a detrimental effect on your health, especially your mental health."

“You’re essentially multiplying the assault on your brain and body each time you press snooze, by repeating the impact on your autonomic nervous system each time you’re awoken,” Janes adds.

But not everyone sees the snooze button as a bad thing. “Essentially, it’s not bad for your health to have a snooze, but it doesn’t give you the maximum benefit of sleep,” sleep expertNeil Stanleytells “The Sun,” noting that snoozing will “put you in a bad mood, rather than killing you.”
