Delaware Man Charged With Crashing Into Trooper's Vehicle

(Berlin, MD) -- State Police say a Delaware man was driving under influence when he struck a trooper's vehicle on Maryland's Eastern Shore. The crash happened Friday morning on Route 113 in Bishopville. The trooper was on the side of the road conducting a commercial vehicle check when a car smashed into the rear of the officer's SUV, pushing it into a dump truck. Charles Lessner is facing DUI and other charges. The 33-year-old was treated at a hospital for his injuries. The trooper and the dump truck driver were uninjured.
