Jeremy Renner is joining fans in their plea to bring Spidey back following reports that the teenage superhero is swinging out of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. According to Deadline, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige won’t be making anymore “Spider-Man” films.
Sony’s partnership with the Disney-owned Marvel Studio has been significant for the “Spider-Man” franchise.Tom Holland’sPeter Parker made his debut in 2016’s “Captain America: Civil War,” and went on to play key roles in the massively successful “Avengers” movies “Infinity War” and “Endgame.” The most recent Spidey flick, “Far From Home,” became the studio’s highest-grossing movie of all time.
But now, Marvel Studios has ended the partnership, and Deadline says it’s all over a disagreement that ended in a stand-off. Disney wanted 50/50 stake, and Sony wasn’t budging, so Feige took Marvel and left.
