These 3 Words Could Help You Feel More Secure in Your Relationship

We all feel insecure in our romantic relationships at some point, but now research reveals there’s a simple fix for that. According to a recent study from the University of Waterloo in Canada, reassuring your partner is as easy as saying three little words. No, not “I love you,” this time it’s asking “How are you?” on a daily basis that does the trick.

For the study, researchers surveyed 359 adults in relationships and found that those who said they often feel insecure in their relationship reported being more satisfied when their partners asked about their day. People who don’t have confidence in their partner’s feelings for them tend to have a tougher time in relationships and acts of kindness like compliments and support from their significant others don’t have the same impact in boosting their confidence that simply asking “How was your day?” does.

The research shows people prefer a partner to show curiosity towards them and their lives over a bit of praise. So if you’re trying to show you care, just sit down and ask how they are. Science says it’s more reassuring than any compliment and nothing could be easier.
