Couple who met on a flight and fell in love are now engaged!

A couple who met on a Southwest Airlines flight just got engaged on a Southwest Airlines plane. Cathlyn Jones spotted Michael Davis when they were both on a 5am. flight in 2018 and since the airline doesn’t have assigned seating, she decided to go for it and ‘sit in the cute guy’s row.’ After chatting on the flight, they both felt they made an instant connection and exchanged numbers and went on their first date a week later.

"I got off the flight and immediately called my sisters and mom and told them I met my husband,” Jones says. “They laughed and called me dramatic and crazy. What's funny is that Michael did the same thing."

They’ve been together for a year now and Davis was ready to pop the question, so he wanted to recreate how he met the love of his life. He collaborated with Jones’ family to get her to The Frontiers of Flight Museum in Dallas, where they have the first Southwest plane. He made her think she was filming a commercial for a girls’ trip and hired a photographer to capture the proposal.

While the bride-to-be burst into tears when she walked on the plane and saw Davis with a ring on one knee, she was thrilled and said “Yes!” Southwest even sent them a bottle of champagne engraved with their names, engagement date, and flight number they met on to celebrate the happy occasion.
