Britney Spears' "Notebook" Audition Leaked To Press

As Britney Spears’ book hits shelves today, the performer is backing up her claim that she was seriously considered for the role of Allie in “The Notebook” that ended up going to Rachel McAdams. A newly released video of her audition shows Spears pouring her heart into the callback and as Hollywood casting director Matthew Barry told the Daily Mail, the then 21-year-old “blew us all away”.

Barry has gone even further, saying the “Gimme More” singer was at the top of the list of candidates with starlets like Amy Adams, Claire Danes, Scarlett Johansson, Kate Bosworth, Mandy Moore and Jaime King.

Spears reveals in her memoir “The Woman In Me” that “‘The Notebook casting came down to me and Rachel McAdams,” adding. “And even though it would have been fun to reconnect with Ryan Gosling after our time on ‘The Mickey Mouse Club,’ I’m glad I didn’t do it.”

The full audition has already been taken down by Warner Brothers Studio.
