Mouse, a 10-year-old pit bull mix found abandoned in West Warwick, Rhode Island, has become the town's first official comfort K-9 after being adopted by the local police department. Originally found in poor health and later diagnosed with lymphoma, Mouse received free chemotherapy from Dr. Kim Nelson at Greenwich Valley Animal Clinic. She recovered enough to complete therapy dog training and is set to be formally sworn in next week. The West Warwick Police Department is also selling T-shirts to support Mouse’s care and raise funds for the local animal shelter.
