DDG: Massachusetts Mom Spreads Kindness With Free Flowers Stand

A mom in Taunton, Massachusetts, has started a community project to spread kindness in her neighborhood with free flowers. Earlier this year, Grace Larson planted a “Chaos Garden” filled with various flowers, including sunflowers, cosmos, and zinnias. After months of tending the garden, she and her husband built the “Kindness and Grace” free flower stand on their front lawn to give away the flowers at no cost.

Larson creates bouquets and leaves them at the stand for anyone to take, encouraging people to donate jars to hold the flowers. While donations are optional, some visitors contribute money, cards, letters, or small gifts. She uses the donations to restock the stand, sometimes buying flowers from a local supermarket when her garden’s supply is low.

Over the months, she’s received messages from people who have shared the flowers with loved ones in the hospital or undergoing medical treatment. Larson says the project brings her joy and she plans to continue it indefinitely. “It seriously makes my heart so happy,” she says, adding that she believes it brightens people’s days.
