Meet Quin Scharn, a 10-year-old boy from California who had to have his leg and hip amputated after being diagnosed with bone cancer. Upon waking up from the anesthesia, he declared, "I want a dog with three legs." The San Francisco Chronicle reports that it took two years, but Scharn finally found one a dog named Logan at Sacramento's Front Street Animal Shelter. "Scharn was so tough going through treatment, and a lot of it was a front," his mother Teresa Howell explains. "Seeing him with Logan, I can just tell all the other stuff is melting away." Scharn and Logan are already close friends after the dog was welcomed into the family home last week. The pup has already learned how to run up the stairs, but can't figure out how to get back down just yet.
