Black Sabbath has officially called it quits after 49 years. According to Billboard, the band confirmed the news by posting their own obituary on social media this week. The image posted shows the band’s name written in purple ink on a black backdrop with the dates “1968-2017.” They captioned the image with the hashtag “#TheEnd.” Reaction to the news varied widely, with fans making comments such as, "The Rolling Stones have their final tour every three years," and, "Black Sabbath will live on through their recordings for people to discover and enjoy the band for a long time to come." Black Sabbath embarked on their The End Tour in January 2016 and played their final-ever gig together last month in their hometown of Birmingham, UK.
