Have you ever noticed that Disney princesses like Cinderella, Belle, Jasmine, and Elsa all wear blue? It turns out the choice in color isn't a coincidence. According to Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, people's inclination toward blue can be contributed to the sky.
"It's something to look forward to, to see that blue sky," she tells Allure magazine. "It’s dependable. It's reliable. It might cloud up, but we know it’s there.” She adds, "You’re adding a bit of power to the character by giving her the blue. It's a very subtle way of saying, ‘Yeah, but young women, young girls, can be empowered, too."
