A little girl in Scotland is making headlines for writing a sweet letter requesting a park swing for her brother with disabilities. The Huffington Post reports that 8-year-old Naomi Gwynne recently wrote a letter addressed to “park builders” and explained that her twin brother Isaac is “too big for a baby swing and can’t hold on to the bars of the grown-up swings.” Isaac is nonverbal and has neurofibromatosis type 1, a condition characterized by changes in skin coloring and the growth of tumors along nerves in the skin and brain. Naomi continued, “His favorite thing is a swing and we are both sad--why did you forget about him?” The city council has since responded to Naomi’s letter and noted that they are looking into whether “the existing swing frame can incorporate a disabled seat for Isaac.”
