Police are warning residents of certain states to be vigilant as Facebook releases a statement.The Ohio man who police say shot and killed a man and posted the video to Facebook could be on his way to New York. Residents of Pennsylvania, Indiana and Michigan are also being told to be on alert.
As we told you earlier, Cleveland police say Steve Stephens posted the video of the deadly shooting on social media pages yesterday afternoon. Stephens claimed that he's committed other homicides, but Cleveland Police Chief Calvin Williams says there's only one victim they are aware of.
Meanwhile, Facebook has released a statement about their site being used this way. “This is a horrific crime and we do not allow this kind of content on Facebook. We work hard to keep a safe environment on Facebook, and are in touch with law enforcement in emergencies when there are direct threats to physical safety.”
Copies of the video were seen on the site two hours later.
