Most Americans Want to Do Nothing on Vacation

A new Associated Press poll finds that most Americans want to literally do nothing while on vacation. Specifically, three-quarters of respondents said that resting and relaxing is “very or extremely important” when they take a summer trip. If they’re forced to actually get off the hammock or beach towel, sightseeing, visiting family and spending time in nature were the top-rated activities. And—surprise!—shopping is more popular among women than men.
