Like a lot of couples, Gertrude Mokotoff and Alvin Mann met when a mutual friend introduced them. They both worked out at the same gym in Middletown, New York, which is impressive since she’s 98 and he’s 94. But age is just a number to these two.The couple dated for eight years and enjoyed an active lifestyle together and talked about spending their lives together.
So on a late-night drive home from the Metropolitan Opera House in Manhattan, Gertrude popped the question to her fella, bucking tradition. “I asked him to marry me,” she says. “I was tired of chasing after him.”Alvin said yes and the happy couple recently tied the knot in front of loved ones.
They might be a tad bit older than the typical bride and groom, but they’re not letting that get in their way. “Age doesn’t mean a damn thing to me or to Gert,” the groom says. “We don’t see it as a barrier. We still do what we want to do in life.” Congratulations to the happy couple!Source: The New York Times
