Allison Pope got more than she bargained for when she tried to cash in a $3 scratch-off "Bonus Crossword" lottery ticket worth $3,000. She was informed by a lottery employee that the ticket was actually worth $30,000.
"When the lady handed the ticket back to me, I was shaking," Pope told the Globe Gazette. "She was like, 'Are you going to pass out?'" Pope, who works 12 hours a day as a waitress and at a convenience store, intends to pay bills, save money and work fewer hours now that she's won some money.
