A man in Maryland won a $50,000 Powerball jackpot earlier this month due to a clerk’s mistake. According to Maryland Lottery officials, the 27-year-old Denton man was shopping at his local Weis Markets on August 9 when he asked the clerk for one Mega Millions ticket and a Powerball ticket. "I only asked for one ticket each for one game of Mega Millions and Powerball," the winner explains. "The cashier gave me two games on each ticket. I am grateful she did as the second game on my Powerball ticket was the winning one." The winner and his wife plan to share their newfound wealth and to use some of the money “to purchase [their] home in the near future.”
