A new mom who was making more breast milk than her baby needed is turning her extra supply into a side hustle. Rafaela Lamprou, who lives in Cypress, has made thousands selling her extra breast milk, but it’s not other moms in search of nourishment for their infants who are buying: it’s men.
When the 24-year-old mother of two had her son, Anjelo, last August, she was producing so much milk that she ran out of room to store it. So she offered it to some moms she knew who were having trouble breastfeeding at the time. But then she says she started getting requests from men who wanted to drink it.
“It started with men who were interested in bodybuilding. They say it’s good for building muscle mass,” Lamprou explains. “But then I started to get inquiries from men with fetishes. Now I breastfeed on demand.”
So far, this mama says she’s sold more than 17,000-ounces of breast milk and she’s made $6,000 doing it. She has a Facebook group for people who want to request her milk and she’s given over 132-gallons of milk away to strangers. That’s a lot of milk! Lamprou says she’s not sure how long she can keep it up, but for now, she has her husband’s support and she’s happy to do it.
