Hawaiian Air was named the worst primarily due to their airfare prices, as well as their route network
With airline travel being such a chore these days, flying on a reputable carrier is a must, and a new report reveals which airlines are the absolute best and worst out there.
The PointsGuy website has come out with their annual airline rankings, looking at nine major airlines and judging them on ten factors, including things like fees charged for baggage and ticket changes, the size of their route network, passenger bumping, on-time arrival rates, passenger complaints, cabin comfort, frequent flyer programs and more.
So, what is the best airline out there? Well, overall, Alaska Airlines earns the top honor for a second year in a row. Alaska is so good, it ranks in the top three for airfare, on-time arrivals, customer satisfaction and baggage and number one for their frequent flyer program
- On the other end of the spectrum, Hawaiian airlines comes in last overall, getting particularly low marks for airfare and route network. It does get good marks for on-time arivals and avoiding involuntary bumps but The Points Guy site puts more weight on the first two factors.
- Interestingly the biggest drop of the year goes to JetBlue, which went from fourth to eighth, losing a lot of points this year in the areas of on-time arrivals, for which it was dead last, as well as baggage and change fees and customer satisfaction.
