Being short on cash ended up being a really fortunate situation for a Maryland man recently. According to UPI, the Parksville man wanted to purchase a $30 scratch-off ticket at the E-Z Convenience store in Towson, but realized he didn't have enough money.
He decided to go for the $20 Cash Explosion instant ticket instead and ended up winning $50,000. "For a moment I considered heading to the ATM because I was really in the mood for a $30 game," he told lottery officials. "Imagine what I would have missed out on!" The winner said he picked up the tab when he went out to eat with friends later that day, but he didn't tell them why--yet.
