Almost 42 million Americans will start their summer by traveling for Memorial Day weekend. The holiday unofficially marks the start of summer for many, and Triple-A says they anticipate a five percent increase in people traveling for the extended weekend. The number of people anticipated to journey to different places is expected to be the highest number in over a dozen years. Major roadways could see delays up to three times longer than normal. The increased travel comes even as gas prices continue to skyrocket.
