Madonna Releases Inspirational Anthem, I Rise

Madonna releases inspirational anthem I Rise

Madonna releases inspirational anthem I Rise off of her upcoming Madame X album. This buzz track is the second from her highly awaited 14th studio album.

Madonna has just released the inspirational anthem I Rise off of her upcoming Madame X album. The track is written by Madonna, Starrah and Jason Evigan and produced by Madonna and Evigan. I Rise starts off with a sample from Emma Gonzalez' March For Our Lives 2018 speech on being a survivor of the Stone Douglas High School shooting. "[They say] us kids don’t know what we’re talking about. That we’re too young to understand how the government works. We call BS.”

I Rise is a laid back, down tempo synth dream urging people to rise up and have your voice heard. It is aimed directly at marginalized people as an anthem to rally around and rise up. I wrote ‘I Rise’ as a way of giving a voice to all marginalized people who feel they don’t have the opportunity to speak their mind,” Madonna said in a statement. “This year is the 50th anniversary of pride and I hope this song encourages all individuals to be who they are, to speak their minds and to love themselves.” “I wrote ‘I Rise’ as a way of giving a voice to all marginalized people who feel they don’t have the opportunity to speak their mind. This year is the 50th anniversary of Pride and I hope this song encourages all individuals to be who they are, to speak their minds and to love themselves.”, Madonna said in a statement.

The buzz track is released on the eve of GLADD honoring Madonna with the Advocate for Change Award. While it is not an official single, it is the second track released from Madame X following her hit song Medellín with Maluma. You can watch her groundbreaking performance of Medellín from the 2019 Billboard Music Awards.
