Safety Update: Firefly Music Festival will require proof of full vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test result.

Get excited! Firefly Music Festival 2021 is one month away and I couldn't be more excited to see Lizzo, Blackbear, The Killers, Diplo and so many more incredible artists. After a one year pause due to COVID-19, Firefly is primed to return to The Woodlands in Dover, Delaware with more fun, talent, friendship and music than we've experienced since....well, Firefly Music Festival 2019!

The organizers of Firefly Music Festival have announced a safety bulletin regarding COVID-19 for ticket holders. Proof of full vaccination for COVID-19 or a negative COVID-19 test within 3 days of your arrival will be required for entrance to Firefly. These guidelines are designed to ensure we can enjoy Firefly Music Festival this year while being as safe as possible.

The requirements state:

All attendees will be required to show proof of full vaccination or proof of a negative COVID-19 test result for entry to the festival and festival campgrounds. A photo or digital copy of your vaccine card or recent negative COVID-19 test will be accepted. Specific entry protocol forthcoming.
At Firefly 2021, upon entry to the festival grounds (campgrounds or venue), we are requiring all attendees to:
Provide proof that they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
OR
Provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test. The test must be taken no earlier than 72 hours (3 days) prior to your first entry into the festival grounds (campgrounds or venue). (e.g for Weds. 9/22 arrival, the test must be taken on Sun. 9/19 or later.)

Firefly organizers go into greater detail on what this means exactly. The last day for a festival goer to get their second dose of Pfizer or Moderna shots or their one shot of Johnson and Johnson would be Thursday, September 9th. This follows CDC guidelines on the length of time needed for maximum immunity.

If you've opted not to get a vaccine, you must bring proof of a negative COVID-19 test from an accepted testing site. This means, a negative PCR, molecular or antigen test, administered by an official testing center and you took the test no earlier than 72 hours prior to your arrival to the festival. So if you're arriving on Thursday September 23rd, the test must have been taken on Monday September 20th or later. Please remember that each testing site has a different turnaround for testing, so make sure to plan ahead for that.

It's also extremely important to note that using, buying or selling fake vaccination cards is a federal crime. Don't do it. You won't get in to Firefly and you'll end up with a felony charge. You can get a free vaccination card by getting vaccinated and not having to cry in jail telling your cellmate how you're totally missing out on Billie Eilish's set.
