Don Johnson Talks Book Club: The Next Chapter with Kyle McMahon - An Interview with the Hollywood Icon
Show business has been graced with the legendary presence of Don Johnson for over 40 years. From his role as James "Sonny" Crockett in the iconic series Miami Vice to his recent success in films such as Django Unchained (powerful film) and Knives Out (incredible film) and even appeared in A Good Old Fashioned Orgy (that's the movie title, you dirty Gert), Johnson has proven that he is a force to be reckoned with in the entertainment industry. And in addition to his acting chops, did you know that he's also found big success in the music industry? With a Billboard #5 hit under his belt ("Heartbeat") and a Top 40 with Barbara Streisand ("Till I Loved You"), it's clear that there's never been any stopping this multi-talented, multi-hyphenate star.
In the latest episode of iHeartRadio's Pop Culture Weekly with Kyle McMahon, I had the pleasure of interviewing the man himself on the red carpet for the premiere of Book Club: The Next Chapter, at AMC Loews 13 Lincoln Square in Manhattan. Johnson reprises his role as Arthur from the 2018 film Book Club, co-starring in both films alongside Jane Fonda, Candice Bergen, Diane Keaton and Mary Steenburgen.
During my interview with Don Johnson, we delved into his impressive forty plus year career, from his early days in television to his current success on the big screen. His silky smooth voice, gracious presence and undeniable charisma have made him a fan favorite, and it's quite clear to me that he is still enjoying every moment of his career. In fact, when I asked about his experience filming Book Club: The Next Chapter, Johnson was quick to praise his legendary co-stars, stating that working with such talented actresses was a dream come true. He also touched on his experiences filming in scenic Italy and how the beautiful location played a significant role in ultimately shaping the story. The camaraderie between the cast members was apparent, with Johnson stating that he and these legendary Hollywood icons all had a blast working together during filming.
Book Club: The Next Chapter, directed by Bill Holderman and co-written by Holderman and Erin Simms, serves as a testament to the power of friendship and embracing life's adventures, no matter what your age. Starring Jane Fonda, Diane Keaton, Mary Steenburgen, Candice Bergen, Don Johnson, Andy Garcia and Craig T. Nelson, it's a hysterical, uplifting comedy that you'll want to see - and it's in theaters right now.
