Regal Cinema's Musical Mayhem: Full $4.99 Movie Lineup & Schedule for May 2026 - Exclusively in Regal Cinemas
There are moments when moviegoing stops being just “going to the movies” and starts feeling like a full on cultural event. And tbh? This is one of those moments.
This May, Regal Cinemas is bringing back its repertory series with “Musical Mayhem” - a month long celebration of music driven movies that swing from prestige Oscar winners to chaotic cult favorites like it’s building the ultimate movie musical playlist.
Tickets are just $4.99 for non Regal Unlimited members and of course - free for Regal Unlimited members. Which tbh, makes it feel less like a cool promotion and more like a public service.
Why You Need Musical Mayhem In Your Life
Musicals in theaters just hit differently. They always have. The sound is bigger, the emotion hits harder and the dark theater, giant screen and premium audio becomes part of the experience. Watching Purple Rain at home alone? That's cool and all. Watching it with a crowd that knows every line? That’s an experience!
And Regal clearly understands that the magic isn’t just in the movies themselves - it’s in how we experience them together.

What makes this work isn’t just the lineup of incredible movie musical titles - it’s the range that Regal is putting out here.
You go from the emotional gut-punch of A Star is Born to the chaotic brilliance of Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping like that’s a normal emotional progression. And tbh, for my brain it is.
But for most people, it's not. And that’s why it’s perfect.
Can we talk about the fact that Moulin Rouge! and Inside Llewyn Davis exist in the same month here? One is maximalist spectacle and the other is quiet existential dread with a guitar. And you can see both on a giant screen with incredible sound at Regal.
It’s epic. It’s intimate. It’s emotionally devastating. So… you know. A casual Tuesday.
And, because Regal isn’t forgetting the next generation of theater kids:
- Starting May 1 — Trolls World Tour
- Starting May 8 — Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile
- Starting May 15 — The Prince of Egypt
- Starting May 22 — Sing 2
And yeah, The Prince of Egypt absolutely counts as an emotional event for adults. Don’t argue with me on this. You won't win this one.
May 2026 Is Going To Be Epic for Regal Cinemas
There’s been a lot of hand-wringing about how theaters stay relevant. Bigger screens, better seats, premium formats - all valid conversations to be had.
But this? This is the other answer.
Curated programming. Nostalgia with intention. A lineup that understands music isn’t just sound - it’s memory. It's exerpience. It's a perfect month for movie and cinema lovers!
Because the real draw here isn’t just the movies. It’s the feeling of sitting in a room full of people who get it just like you do.
I will absolutely be planning my entire May around this. No, I will not be normal about it. See ya at Regal Cinemas all May long, so say "Hey!" if you see me!
