Daily Do Good: Couple Saves Man With Wheelchair Stuck On Train Tracks

A Massachusetts couple became real life heroes when they stepped in to save a stranger whose wheelchair was stuck on the railroad tracks. Just before last week’s Patriots game, Matt and Megan Pohl noticed Jarmac “JT” Tidwell in his wheelchair stuck on the train tracks and without hesitation, they rushed to help.

The Pohls were able to free JT, who has special needs and is semi-independent, just in the nick of time, as the oncoming train was only seconds away. “It was hard. His wheel was perfectly wedged between the concrete and the track,” Megan says. “I don't think he realized what was about to happen. As we got him off, these [crossing gates] came down and the train came by.”

JT is now in need of a new electric wheelchair, because the one he has isn’t working properly and that’s why he got stuck. But he got the helping hand he needed to save his life that day, thanks to the kindness of these strangers. To Matt, not helping wasn’t even an option, as he says, “You just got to help people, to save people.”
