Waitress Fired For Mixing Blood Into Cocktails

Just call her Bloody Mary. A waitress in Japan has been fired for allegedly using her own blood as a mixer in cocktails. Management for the lounge Mondaiji Con Cafe Daku, which translates to Problem Child Dark Cafe, issued an apology and equated what the anonymous server did to “job terrorism”. They also let people know the bar was temporarily shut down in order to replace the contaminated glasses and trash bottles that could’ve been tainted with blood.

So, how bad is drinking a stranger’s blood, you ask? Dr. Zento Kitao told the Japanese news site Flash that “Drinking the blood of other people is an extremely dangerous act.” Kitao added, “Cases of people getting infected from drinking another person’s blood are rare, but major diseases can be transmitted through blood, including HIV, hepatitis C, hepatitis B, and syphilis.”
