Daily Do Good: Woman’s Dream Of Co-Piloting Airplane Comes True At Age 94

Rockland, Maine, native Jane Lindquist recently fulfilled her lifelong dream of co-piloting an airplane. The 94-year-old vividly remembers watching planes with her dad as a child, which ignited her passion for flying. She expressed her joy at the overdue accomplishment, saying, "The surprise of my lifetime has come true."

Lindquist grew up in Rockland, attended a local college, and her family would often watch planes taking off from a nearby airport in Owls Head. It was those memories that fostered her love for aviation and led her to add taking the controls of a plane to her bucket list.

With pilot Charlie Donnelly guiding the way, Lindquist boarded the plane with her grandson and Jenn Donnelly, who helped arrange the special flight along with Canco Senior Living. After the plane's warm-up, the nonagenarian and first-time co-pilot took the yoke, flying the plane through the sky at around 175 miles-per-hour. Throughout the adventure, Lindquist couldn't stop smiling, enjoying the sensation of fulfilling a lifelong dream and gaining a unique connection she now shares with other pilots from her family.
