DDG: Tennessee Couple To Host Free Thanksgiving Dinner For Anyone In Need

An East Tennessee couple is hosting a free Thanksgiving dinner for local residents in Sevierville on November 20th. This kind gesture, intended to serve 150 to 200 people, is a revival of a 2019 event held by Reverend Brooks Ramsey and his wife Christy. The couple was motivated to organize this year's dinner after pausing the annual event due to the pandemic.

Local Sevierville restaurant Chubby’s is providing the venue and, along with more than 20 other local businesses, providing the food as well. The Ramseys and these businesses have come together to ensure that locals facing hardships have access to a festive meal, especially those who don’t have anyone to spend Thanksgiving with.

Knowing that some community members may be unable to attend, they’ll have to-go boxes available and will be offering delivery for shut-ins, ensuring that they help as many people as possible. The couple see the event as an outlet to overcome the tragedy they experienced the last few years and a way to give back to the community they love.
