DDG: Elvis, Only Dog Left In Shelter, Rescued By Former Elvis Impersonator

After an adoption event at Chicago’s The Anti-Cruelty Society animal shelter where 22 dogs and 39 cats found forever homes, only one pet didn’t get adopted: a three-year-old pit mix named Elvis. The shelter made a plea on social media to find Elvis a loving home and the pup’s story went viral, reaching millions of people across the country.

One of the people who saw Elvis’ story was former Elvis impersonator Loren Michael Agron. He and his partner Drew Wilhelm instantly fell in love with Elvis and decided to adopt him and keep his iconic name. The shelter celebrated the adoption, writing on social media that the couple had been waiting for the right time to welcome a dog into their family, and it was fate that brought them together.

Elvis now has a loving home with his new family, and his owners are overjoyed to have him as a part of their lives. Since his adoption, the pup has settled into his new home, enjoying walks by the lake and snuggling with his new family.
