You Can Score a Free Mountain Dew if You Cross into Mountain Time
If you book a flight just to do this, you might need a lesson on budgeting . . .
Mountain Dew's newest promo is free soda if you cross into Mountain Time between now and the end of the year.
It's part of a marketing campaign where they declared it their "official" time zone. They also just added a new mascot this summer called the "Mountain Dude" . . . just a random bearded guy in a green fur coat.
To get your free soda, you have to register at WelcomeToMTNTime.com. Then go back once you've crossed into Mountain Time and get a code for a free 20-ounce bottle.
People who LIVE in Mountain Time would apparently have to leave . . . register in a different time zone . . . and go back.
Canada has Mountain Time too, but it sounds like that won't count. It's only for people in the U.S.
They're also doing a separate contest called "Mountain Dew Hauls" where five people who MOVE to the Mountain Time Zone this month will have their moving expenses reimbursed up to $10,000.
So, if you happen to be relocating to one of the 13 states with Mountain Time, maybe check that out.
