The "You've Got Mail" Guy Died

Elwood Edwards passed away on Tuesday after a long illness. He was just one day shy of his 75th birthday.

You may not know his name, but you know his work. He was AOL's "You've Got Mail" guy.

Elwood was paid $200 back in 1989 to record four lines: "Welcome", "You've Got Mail", "Files Done", and "Goodbye".

Elwood worked for many years as a graphics and camera operator at the local Cleveland TV station WKYC. He was also seen in 2016 working as an Uber driver.
