A family dining at an O’Charley’s restaurant in Lebanon, Tennessee, accidentally left behind an envelope of money, causing panic when they realized it was missing. Lola, who’d been at the restaurant with her husband and young daughter, searched everywhere, including her home and car, before calling the restaurant as a last resort. To her relief, 18-year-old server Nate Affourtit had found the envelope in the booth and safely set it aside.

Nate, a college student working five days a week to save for a car, says he was surprised no one else had taken the envelope and didn’t consider keeping it himself. He credits his parents for instilling good values. Lola expressed deep gratitude, calling him “a light” during a difficult day and acknowledging the money’s importance to her family.

Lola later posted about Nate’s act of kindness on social media, leading to donations from friends to support him. She also promised her family would become regulars at the restaurant to show their appreciation.
