DDG: College Student Gets Engaged To BF Who Saved Her Life 5 Years Before

Nearly five years after a life-changing pool accident, Brooklyn Boyer recently got engaged to her rescuer Alan Mann. In 2020, just a week into dating, she hit her head on the bottom of a pool, leaving her paralyzed. Mann, who had just completed lifeguard training, immediately jumped in to help until paramedics arrived.

Boyer spent three months recovering at Craig Hospital in Denver, relearning essential skills, including how to drive and get around in her wheelchair. Despite the challenges, Mann and his parents remained by her side throughout her journey. When Boyer told Mann she would understand if he wanted to leave, he reassured her that he was staying for the long haul.

Last month, just after Valentine’s Day, Mann proposed to Boyer during a romantic dinner. Overjoyed, she shared how grateful she is for his unwavering support, calling him a blessing. Mann, in turn, says he admires her resilience and feels lucky to witness her strength firsthand. The newly engaged couple are excited for the future they will build together.
