Daily Do Good: Employee Wins $1 Million On Buffet’s March Madness Challenge

For the first time in nearly a decade, a Berkshire Hathaway employee has won Warren Buffett’s $1-million March Madness bracket challenge. The winner, who works at FlightSafety International, correctly predicted 31 out of 32 first-round games in the 2025 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. Open only to Berkshire Hathaway employees, the annual contest hasn’t had a winner for several years.

Buffett first offered the prize back in 2016 for anyone who could correctly guess the Sweet 16. When nobody won, the rules were made easier in 2024 and again in 2025, requiring at least 30 correct picks in the first round. This year, 12 employees hit that mark.

The million-dollar prize was awarded to the participant who picked 29 consecutive games correctly before their first miss and finished with 44 correct out of 45 games. The remaining 11 employees, who also guessed 31 of 32 games correctly, each received $100-thousand.
