NASA is looking for an answer. Is there a way to recycle human waste in outer space?
The agency is offering $3-million to anyone who comes up with technology to recycle poop and other human waste in space.
The LunaRecycle Challenge came about because there were 96 bags of human waste that were left behind on the moon by astronauts from the Apollo missions and they don’t want to add to the pile. The winning tech will be part of future missions.
