On June 16th, the Dalton family lost their Shepherd, Montana, home when a powerful hailstorm blew it off its foundation and onto one of their vehicles, destroying most of their belongings. In the wake of the disaster, they were overwhelmed by community support from friends, family, and strangers. “There are good people still out there that are willing to help,” Joe Dalton said.
One of the most impactful acts of kindness came from Joanna Paloni, who donated her 29-foot trailer to the Daltons. The family was amazed that someone facing her own challenges could offer such a generous gift without hesitation. The trailer will allow the family to leave hotel living behind and return to their property.
Now back on their land, the Daltons have a renewed sense of stability and comfort as they begin the long process of rebuilding. Joe shares, “Being on the property again, you know, kind of gives us a little more home feel.” He hopes that others in the community experiencing hardship will get the same level of care and support his family has seen during this difficult time.
