Popular YouTuber Ryan Trahan raised over $11.5 million for St. Jude Children’s Hospital by completing a 50-day challenge that had him staying in 50 unique Airbnbs across all 50 U.S. states. Each day, he and his wife Haley visited a new state and reviewed the Airbnb they stayed in, creating daily video content ranging from 20 to 40 minutes. The journey took them to extraordinary locations, including a castle, a cave, a missile silo, a barn, and even a giant shoe.
Throughout the trip, they celebrated each $1-million raised with a cake and shared their adventures with viewers online. After visiting every state, they declared the Treetopia Treehouse in Broken Bow, Oklahoma, as the best Airbnb in the country. The final night of their journey was spent in a private villa on the edge of Hawaii’s Big Island.
More than 42-thousand people donated to the campaign, including large contributions from companies like Airbnb, Shopify, Dollar Shave Club, and T-Mobile. Philanthropists like Dr. Peter Attia and fellow YouTubers MrBeast and Mark Rober also contributed.
