Daily Do Good: Hero Waiter Stops Plot To Shoot Up Georgia Bank

A quick-thinking waiter in Griffin, Georgia, is being credited with preventing a possible tragedy after overhearing two men allegedly plotting to attack a bank. The employee contacted police right away after catching parts of their conversation while they dined at the restaurant.

Officers began searching and soon located the suspects outside a nearby Wells Fargo branch, where they were found sitting in a parked car. Police report that the individuals were taken into custody without incident.

Authorities say both men, ages 73 and 48, were charged with felony counts of making terroristic threats and acts. They credited the waiter’s alert response with helping to stop the potential attack before it could begin.
