DDG: Trio Rescues Elderly Woman Who Drove Into Water At Boat Launch

On Thursday, three men, brothers Jacques Billiot and Nathan Billiot and their friend Brady Dufrene, rescued an elderly woman after her vehicle drove into the water at a boat ramp in Cut Off, Louisiana. According to the Lafourche Parish Fire District 3, the men were getting ready to trailer their boat when they saw the car enter the water. They immediately jumped in to help, pulling the woman safely out of her vehicle before firefighters arrived.

Once she was rescued, firefighters searched the submerged vehicle to confirm no one else was inside. The Lafourche Parish Fire District 3 shared photos of the scene and remained at the launch site until the vehicle was removed from the water.

In a social media post, the department publicly thanks the trio for their heroic response. “Thanks to the quick and selfless response of these three young men, a life was saved tonight,” officials write, adding that their bravery prevented the situation from becoming a tragedy.
