DDG: “Never Miss A Super Bowl Club” Members Make It To 60th Big Game

Yesterday at Super Bowl 60, the Never Miss a Super Bowl Club continued their run as the only remaining fans known to have attended every game since 1967. The exclusive club only has three members, Don Crisman of Maine, Gregory Eaton of Michigan, and Tom Henschel of Florida. Crisman, who turns 90 this year, went with his daughter Susan Metevier, while Henschel, 84, was there despite recently suffering a stroke, and Eaton, 86, the only one still working, took time off from his transportation company in Detroit.

Crisman says the trip was likely his last as travel has become harder with age, and he now spends just a few days in the host city instead of a week. Eaton says costs have climbed and describes the event as a $10-thousand trip, but adds that he wants to keep attending as long as he’s able. The men gathered for a news conference and spoke about checking on one another each year.

Henschel says this game was his most challenging because he has difficulty walking and talking, but he was happy to see his friends again. Metevier says attending with her father felt bittersweet and they tried to focus on the memories they’ve made over the years.
