Funko celebrates halfway to Halloween with Funkoween release announcements including Beetlejuice, Universal Monsters, Hocus Pocus and more!
While we might be bogged down in bad news lately, we can always rely on Funko to cheer things up. And if you're a horror fan like myself, or your favorite holiday is Halloween (like myself), Funko just made your month! Last week they announced a huge series of upcoming releases all related to some of our favorite horror movies or relating to Halloween. They call it: Funkoween.
Let's take a look at some of the Funkoween announcements
Disney Parks Haunted Mansion
First up is a continuation of the popular Disney Parks Haunted Mansion line. Maid is up first with a cool common figure. Haunted Mansion Portraits: Alexander Nitrokoff is up next with both a common and a chase. The chase, like the portraits in the Haunted Mansion itself, make Alexander larger, in this case by creatively standing him on a barrel. Haunted Mansion Portraits: Constance Hatchaway is another POP with both a common and a chase. Like Alexander Nitrokoff, the chase similarly has her appear larger by sitting on a tall stone.
Additionally, there's a set of Haunted Mansion Mini Vinyl figures which allows you to collect your favorite ghouls from the Disney ride, including Madame Leota. Everyone's favorite hitchhiking ghosts are here as well. These, along with the Funko POP!'s release in September. You can pre-order all of the Haunted Mansion Funko POP and Mini Vinyl figures here.
Child's Play 2
We are getting closer and closer to a life size (doll size?) Chucky with the release of the Funko Child's Play 2 10" Super Size Chucky Pop. This big boy releases in August and features a very angry looking Chucky holding a bloody knife. You can pre-order the Funko Child's Play 2 10" Super Size Chucky Pop on Amazon!
Yes all you witches, Funko is releasing a third wave of Hocus Pocus Funko POPs. This wave features Winifred, Sarah and Mary flying on their brooms - well almost. Winifred, played by Bette Midler in the classic Disney film, has her hand out to cast a spell while flying on her broom. Sarah, played by Sarah Jessica Parker, has both hands on her broom. And then there's Mary, played by Kathy Najimy, who's flying on her vacuum cleaner because that's just how Mary rolls. These release in September and you can pre-order the Funko POP! Hocus Pocus figures now on Amazon!
The Universal Monsters characters are classic, iconic characters beloved by millions and have stood the test of time. As part of Funkoween, Funko announced two Walgreens exclusives coming out in September. The first is The Invisible Man who is holding a book and in a robe in this release. The next is Frankenstein's Monster, holding a flower - a classic moment in movie history Frankenstein is a Glow In The Dark Funko Pop. These already sold out online, so you're going to have to venture to Walgreens on release day and try to snag your exclusive POPs.
Funko Spooky Advent Calendar
This one is for all of us horror and Halloween fans. The Funko Advent Calendar: Spooky 13 Day Countdown is the perfect way to countdown to Halloween. This set includes 13 Funko Pocket POP figures from some of your favorite horror franchises including Freddy Krueger, Releasing at the end of August, the Funko Advent Calendar: Spooky 13 Day Countdown is up for pre-order on Amazon. It's just what us horror fans need to countdown to our favorite holiday.
These are just a few of the releases Funko announced during Funkoween week. I previously covered the Edward Scissorhands line, which I'm so excited about. They also announced a huge wave of Nightmare Before Christmas Funko POPs, Beetlejuice, and so much more. You can check out all of the announcements on the Funko Instagram page.
And as always, the official Funko Shop always offers exclusives, limited releases and most new releases right from the source.
